zheng ensemble :D

Zheng Ensemble was constituted in July 2006, under the tutelage of Mr. Tan Chin Huat. It currently has 80 members.

Many of the members are ex-students of Tampines Changkat Community Centre Performing Troupe, who are current students from Zheng Professionals. These students have had almost 10 years of learning experience in Guzheng music and also vast experiences in performing for outdoor performances and concerts.

In these few years, Zheng Ensemble has attained a good credibility of being a Guzheng Society of good performing standards through its performances, concerts and exchange programs. Some of them include a Guzheng exchange program with the Singapore Soka Association, outdoor performances for Dumpling Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and Chinese New Year celebrations.

Zheng Ensemble also conducts overseas exchange programs regularly so that our students will be able to exchange their Guzheng skills with other students learning the instrument overseas.

We hope to be able to promote Guzheng music to everyone and help them immerse into a culturally vibrant society in Singapore.

Hi everybody! I sincerely apologise for the lack in updates for the past half a year or so :O I shall strrriiiiikkkkkkkeeeeeeeeee back!

First up, there is an upcoming performance in celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival at Esplanade's Outdoor Theatre on 17th September 2010, Friday. There will be three sets of performances at 715pm, 830pm and 945pm. For more details, please click here! :D

In view of the above, practices for the following two Sundays (05/09/10 & 12/09/10) will be from 3-6pm so do take note! Further details will be given as the date draws nearer so do check back for updates!
